Social media has its place to be sure.  However – are you going to trust your entire business operation to a social media platform that could disappear tomorrow or ban you for something you say in a month from now?

There’s a reason why corporations invest huge sums of capital on IP, domain names, branding, logos, websites, etc.  It’s because these are infrastructure investments that ultimately affect their enterprise value, the long term viability of their organization, as well as their bottom line.

In regards to your domain name – it is incumbent upon you to vigilantly retain custody of your domain name (no one else gets access – unless you trust them with your entire business operation) and make sure that your new domain name is renewed promptly.  

If it helps you, set a calendar reminder 11 months after your renewal date, or better yet – register your domain name for 5 years (or longer) out of the gate and always use a valid, working email address so that you are getting any renewal notifications from your domain name registrar.

Losing the domain name of your business, due to failure to renew it with your domain registrar can put you in a world of hurt.  Don’t risk it.

In addition, depending upon the nature of your business – you should always seek out the guidance of a qualified legal professional who specializes in intellectual property. (IP)  These professionals work specifically with trademarks, copyrights, patents, etc. & are worth their weight in gold when it comes to advice on how to best structure & protect your IP assets. 

Finally, you’ll want to consult with your CPA or accountant to make sure that you are following all State & Federal guidelines for both taxation & annual renewals of your business entity.  

In most cases – yes.  However, you should always check with your CPA regarding the deductibility of all business related expenditures.

This is great.  If you are happy what you have and it works there’s usually no need to reinvent the wheel – let’s roll with it. 

If you’ve lost or don’t have original HD image files, we can usually recreate them and provide you with the HD file assets so you can store them for long term safekeeping.

The majority of small and medium sized businesses typically use informational/marketing/brochure style websites to give their customers an overview of what they do, the services they provide & communicate important details about their businesses.

These are typically 1-10 page sites which provide their visitors with detailed information and a call to action.

Hosting companies provide security and storage for your data, email, & web files.  It’s essentially where the files tied to your domain name live.

We install best-in-class security plugins (software) to insure that your website will be as secure as possible.

This software must be updated from time to time as updates are released.

IMPORTANT:  It is up to you to insure that you are updating your themes and plugins on a regular basis to make sure you have the most recent security updates.  It’s  extremely important that you take this seriously so that your website reflects the most recent security updates.
